The word « banoffee » is a portemanteau word. It means that it was made by mixing two existing words. Can you guess them?

Let me give you some clues: the first word is the name of a yellow fruit. You can see it on this picture. The second word is a special type of caramel, made of sugar, butter, and sometimes flour.

Yes! In « banoffee », « ban » is a short version of banana and « offee » stands for toffee!
